I am a mathematics graduate who has worked as a mathematics teacher and private tutor since 2010.
I currently work at Ashton Sixth Form College in Greater Manchester, UK, where I teach GCSE re-sit Maths, A-Level Maths and A-Level Further Maths.
Previously I have also taught KS3, Functional Skills, GCSE Maths and GCSE Further Maths.
In addition to this I have experience of preparing students for school and university entrance exams as well as employment and military aptitude tests.
I will create a relaxed yet productive learning environment where the student feels at ease to make mistakes. Getting things wrong is the only way to learn.
I promote hard work as a means to attainment and to help students perform at their best I will create manageable study plans to ensure the student does not feel overwhelmed and feels in control at all times.
Together we will discover and then address the concepts/topics that the student finds the most challenging.
I will create bespoke homework and assessment plans if required/appropriate.
Where possible I will always teach via conceptual understanding not via ambiguous rules.
We will discuss exam structures, mark schemes and how best to approach each paper.
Most importantly I will build the students confidence, not only in their mathematical ability, but in their ability to take on new challenges in general.
I offer affordable maths tuition, workshops and mentoring services, catering for all levels, through a variety of bespoke approaches designed to fit your needs.
I also offer resource production and escape games.
